Teen arrested for DUI after auto-pedestrian accident

During the summer in Southern California, there will be many teens on the road. Their inexperience can make them a danger to other drivers and pedestrians who are also on the road. Compounding these dangers is when the teen driver is operating the vehicle recklessly and under the influence. When there are pedestrian accidents, regardless of the cause, there can be severe injuries and even death. Those who have been in an auto accident as a pedestrian need to know how to seek compensation through a legal filing for all they have lost.

An alleged drunk driving and speeding incident led to multiple injuries including two pedestrians. The driver of the vehicle was underage and unlicensed. The car was speeding when it crashed into a pole and hit two teenage males who were on the corner. According to the law enforcement investigation, there were open containers of alcohol in the car. Three teens who were in the car and the pedestrians were hospitalized. Two were 15 and two were 16. The driver was placed under arrest.

With any car accident, there can be medical costs, long-term damage, the need for extensive care and an inability to work. If the injuries came about as part of an auto-pedestrian accident, the lack of protection the person was accorded due to not being in a vehicle can lead to spinal damage, brain injuries, broken bones, cuts and worse. Combining all the problems that can come about from this type of auto accident makes it vital for the victims and their families understand their rights to pursue a legal case.

In this incident, an underage driver was speeding and is believed to have been under the influence when he crashed the vehicle into a pole and hit two pedestrians. Several people in the vehicle were also hurt. With the litany of issues that are part of this crash, the people affected should discuss a legal case with an experienced attorney as soon as possible.
