Wrong-way vehicle hits pedestrians, causing severe injuries

Drivers must adhere to Southern California law to keep everyone safe. For example, a driver should allow pedestrians to cross when there is a crosswalk. Drivers are also expected to stop at red lights and drive on the correct side of the road. Unfortunately, there are seemingly accidents every day in which a driver commits a violation, is simply not paying attention or is behaving recklessly. When there are pedestrian accidents, the victims can suffer severe injuries and even be killed. Having legal help to consider a legal filing to cover the costs and be compensated is important.

Four people were hurt when a vehicle drove the wrong way on the road and crashed into them as they stood on a street corner. The accident happened at shortly after 2 p.m. According to the law enforcement investigation, the 37-year-old female driver went into the opposite lanes. She ran through the intersection and hit the people. Their lives are not believed to be in jeopardy. The vehicle then went off the road. It stopped close to a building.

A witness stated that the people had just crossed the street before they were hit. Two of the victims are males, age 18 and 19, are attending a school as special needs students. The other two people who were hit, a male and female, are instructional aides in their program. The driver of the vehicle was also hurt. All were taken to the hospital.

When a person is in an auto-pedestrian accident, the reality is that a vehicle has the potential to cause a significant amount of damage to a person who has no protection. Broken bones, cuts, head injuries, back injuries and worse can occur. A victim can face massive medical costs, be unable to return to work in a timely fashion, if at all, and experience major life changes. Having assistance from a legal professional can be vital to pursue compensation to cover all that was lost and the expenses that will arise. This is the first call that should be made by victims in a pedestrian accident.
