Alleged drunk driver goes through stop sign and kills man

No matter how hard Southern California law enforcement works to find and stop drivers who are operating their vehicles under the influence, there will still be those who slip through the cracks and drive drunk or on drugs. This can lead to an auto accident with serious injuries and death. For those who have been injured or lost a loved one in an accident caused by a drunk driver, the aftereffects can be significant and long-lasting. Having legal help to file a case is essential to being compensated for all that was lost in the present and future.

A man was killed when his car was hit by an alleged drunk driver. The accident happened at shortly after 8 p.m. when the man who died, driving a 1997 Toyota Tercel, was going through an intersection. His vehicle was hit by a 2007 Volkswagen Golf that ran a stop sign. The Toyota came to a stop against a building. The driver was removed from the vehicle by emergency personnel, but was declared dead at the site of the crash. It is believed that the driver of the Volkswagen was moving at approximately 40 mph. Two males were in the Volkswagen. They were taken to the hospital for treatment. The suspected driver was believed to have been under the influence and was placed under arrest.

One of the worst calls that a family can receive is that their loved one was killed in an auto accident with a drunk driver. Unfortunately, there are hundreds of thousands of drunk driving arrests in California annually. These incidents lead to crashes that can cause injuries and death. When there is a drunk driving auto accident, there can be medical costs, the need for long-term care, major life changes, an inability to work and contribute to the family and more. That is if the victim is injured and survives. If there is a fatality, the family will be forced to pay for funeral costs and then come to accept that their loved one died in a totally unnecessary and illegal incident. Often, a lawsuit is the only way to be adequately compensated after such a crash.

In this accident, a man died when an alleged drunk driver went through a stop sign and crashed into his car. The investigation into this accident is ongoing, but as it moves forward, the family of the man who died must protect its interests by considering a lawsuit with help from an experienced attorney.
