Auto-pedestrian accident kills 1, injures 2

Throughout California, the vulnerability of pedestrians is well-known. Since it is difficult to get around in the state, particularly in Southern California, without a car, there are always many drivers on the road. Some will behave in a risky way, not adhere to the law, and place pedestrians at risk. Because pedestrian accidents can do so much damage, those who have been injured in an auto-pedestrian accident or lost a loved one in such a crash must know that a legal filing is often essential to recover adequate compensation for all that was lost.

A crash involving a Ford Mustang and several pedestrians left an 11-year-old girl dead and several injured. The accident happened at around 7 p.m. as a vehicle that reportedly was speeding went out of control. It went over the center line of the roadway and crashed into another two vehicles that were next to a taco stand. The crash resulted in the girl and two others being hit. She died at the hospital. The two others injured, both female adults, were said to be in critical condition. Law enforcement believes all those injured are related. The driver of the Mustang, a 21-year-old male, was questioned and given a field sobriety test. The results were unknown.

A pedestrian accident can happen in a variety of circumstances. Often, people are simply minding their own business when they are hit. Their lives are changed in a multitude of ways after an auto-pedestrian accident. Given their vulnerability, pedestrians can suffer head injuries, spinal cord injuries, broken bones, cuts, bruises and more. It can leave an emotional and physical impact even after the scars have healed. Along with the injuries can come medical bills, lost wages, the inability to function as a normal member of a family and worse. When there is a fatality, especially if it involves a child, the damage can go on for years. A legal filing is often the only available strategy to be compensated.

In this pedestrian accident, a family was at a taco stand when a speeding vehicle led to a crash in which a child was killed and two adults were injured. Law enforcement is still investigating the case to determine how and why it happened. As the case moves forward, the family must make certain they protect themselves and contact a lawyer who is experienced in assisting clients after serious injuries and a fatal pedestrian accident.
